Democratic COWARDS

By SheriSapp

I and many other fellow citizens have been observing the COWARDLY and sickening temper tantrum being thrown by the democratic members of the Wisconsin state senate. It appears that this disease of cowardice is spreading into Indiana and may also infect other states in the future. Some of these senators were just elected in November of last year, but as they are angry over the legislation on which they must vote, as it is their JOB, they have chosen to tuck their tails between their legs and leave the state and shirk their voter-given responsibility. If you are a rabid member of the democratic party, you may well be twisted enough on your own to actually support this action. However, the MAJORITY of American citizens are disgusted by this refusal to perform the job they were elected to perform.

I recall a "president", who was elected in 2008, saying that elections have consequences, and that we have elections for a reason. It appears currently that the election this past November had a bit MORE meaning than some other previous elections have had, and since the dems got a "shellacking" in that election, they are now trying to punish the electorate that spoke on election day. If you are informed on current events, you understand the true meaning of this past election. Bottom line, Americans saw the out of control and unsustainable spending that was being done by the dem majority in the U.S. house and senate, and we went to the polls and cast our votes for those we trusted to STOP the spending and again allow America to gain a firm financial footing. Looks like many voters on the state level ALSO saw these same issues and also voted for the republicans who promised to STOP the craziness.  Too bad that the dems STILL REFUSE to comprehend what happened in the election and more importantly, WHY it happened. They are trying to continue on the express train to fiscal ruination and continue spending our future generations into oblivian.

I remember the HCR debate that festered for over a year and culminated in the dems using a dirty political trick to insure the outcome they desired; they had both majorities, and they were able to do so.  What I do NOT recall is ANY of the republican legislators running away like cowards in order to avoid a vote on a bill they did not support. As the dems DID have the majority, the repubs knew what the outcome would be. Honestly, I wonder what would have happened HAD the repubs fled D.C. and just refused to show up for the vote!! Of course, the republican party must be a bit classier than the dems as they report for work rather than running away and throwing a temper tantrum.

Finally, we arrive at the leader of the dem party, the President. I know he has demonstrated time and again how woeful is his complete lack of any type of leadership skills, but he is almost blatantly encouraging this type of behavior. It doesn't hurt that the MSM is firmly in the pocket of the lib party, but HAD the repubs EVER tried a stunt like this one, the MSM would have been on fire with the nasty names they would have applied to the shirkers of their duties. I don't have the time or the inclination to even begin to address the VIOLENT and HATEFUL rhetoric being employed by the union thugs toward their duly and legally elected representatives as well as non-union taxpaying citizens. Suffice it to say that the crap being spewed by these fools far surpasses the UNFOUNDED nastiness of which the TEA party was wrongfully accused.

Well said, Sheri. Excellent hub. We may soon face the same thing here in Tennessee that's happening in Wisconsin. If so, I say give them one day to get their sorry butts back in the classroom or loose their jobs.

I have no doubt our fore fathers would call these run away Dems exactly what you've called them - COWARDS!!!

Longhunter,

The dems talk at us ad nasuem about debate and discussion and the democratic process. There is NO WAY to discuss or debate with those too cowardly to even take a seat at the table!!

Up, awesome, and beautiful. If I were a Dem, and my elected leaders ran and hid when the going got "tuff". I would be either changing parties or finding new leaders. It is interesting that there are few if any comments coming back from the lefties on this subject. Either they are very ashamed of their elected choices, or too ashamed to say much.

Sheri,

It's time to tell these cowards to forget about coming home. They are guilty of dereliction of duty. Up and awesome.

Poolman,

The libs I have seen questioned about this keep harping on debate and discourse; they seem startled when somebody points out that you CANNOT debate and discuss with folks too scared to come to the table!! Thanks for commenting.

Pop,

I agree with your assessment and thanks for stopping by. I have NOT deserted you, but I have been really busy at work lately, you have so many followers and comments you probably didn't notice my absence...LOL!!

EXACTLY!!! These Dems remind me of a bunch of middle school brats getting mad, taking their ball, and going home. They're so childish and immature by doing this. At least they're insuring a much bigger Republican majority after the next election.

Longhunter,

Like I said, just imagine the vitriol that would have been a constant barrage upon the repubs had ANY of us/them left town and refused to even participate in the process of tackling HCR. I wonder if the lib elites in the MSM even comprehend the damage they are doing to our entire nation and our governmental processes by supporting this childish dem behavior? Like you, I think this will bode quite well for repub prospects come 2012, I've got my fingers crossed!!

Patriot,

Pretty accurate characterization, IMO!!!

If this was a regular business, they would be fired for going AWOL. If they were in the military, they would go to prison or worse. But since they are from the President's party, it's okay, right?

Imagine if the tables were turned and it was Republicans who fled out of the state of Wisconsin because they disagreed with the governor's plans to increase taxes across the board. What would be the reaction by the MSM? It would be a non-stop series of withering attacks on the character of each and every Republican who fled the state. Instead, the media, for the most part, has kept quiet, if not supportive. I am sick of the double standard the media plays in this country. They had as much, if not more, than the Democratic Party to get the anointed one elected.

David,

The support from the prez and the MSM have only helped to exacerbate the situation. We all know what would happen if repubs EVER even considered such a stunt.

No doubt the dems played the coward card here, but like another comment stated it's like a middle school brats grabbing their ball and going home, but could also be said that the ball was popped by the other team of brats. If no one plays fair the game always comes to an end without a winner. All in all this situation was ugly from all sides.
