Your first amendment rights

Let me start by saying just how much I love this great country in which I was lucky enough to be born.  What's not to love about this place?  I want to talk about the first amendment to our constitution and the great freedoms that it gives to all of us.  There are countries where bloggers like this would probably be tracked down and arrested.  Thank God I don't have to worry about that (yet).

First--freedom of speech.  Miraculous thing.  We are allowed to think and give voice to our thoughts without fear of the government.  Too bad the liberals only support free speech if it is speech they support or create.  But I still think it is wonderful that even the liberals are free to voice their opinions--off as they might be(check out our new green jobs czar-Van Jones).  I don't want to contemplate the future direction of the USA if "political correctness" continues as unchecked as it has been.  Remember, since Obama took over,he has re-named lots of stuff.  The war on terror is out.  The word terrorism is out.  I'd still like to know who could think it is sensible to call an act of terrorism a "man-made disaster"?

Next, freedom of religion.  To a liberal, this means the freedom to disparage God and spit in the face of Christianity while making sure to give ample praise to Islam.  I'm sorry, but as a woman, I don't care how "peaceful" their religion claims to be.  All I see is their horrible treatment of women and the parts of their Koran that encourage this type of behavior.  Example, in Iran a man blinded a woman with acid because she spurned his advances.  Their punishments call for "an eye for an eye", but since he was a man, and she was a woman--and not worth as much as a man--his punishment was top be blinded in only one eye.  How's that for fairness and equality?   I cannot even pretend to understand  why the women allow themselves to be treated as second class citizens.  I guess they are kept so sheltered and uneducated that they don't realize all that the world could offer them.

Lastly, freedom of assembly.  Again, just watch the national evening news, and you'll see how much the libs respect this right too.  Remember when GWBush vacationed in Crawford, Texas and the "Code Pink" people lined the road outside his property to protest the war? From the extent of the news coverage, one may have thought this was serious.  Actually, there weren't that many protesters at all.  Now, take these town hall meetings that the congressional members have endured during this August recess.  I have seen HUGE number of VERY ANGRY people who want only to be heard.  Instead, the media (and the dems) marginalize them because they aren't saying things that the dems like or even want to hear.  These conservatives (as am I) are being called "astroturf" and "manufactured" protesters.  Isn't it strange that if 2 people are upset about a religious display on public property anywhere the ACLU can't come to their defense fast enough.  Now that conservatives are finding a voice and showing our anger and frustration, it is written off as fake.  I mean, it must be fake if the libs and dems don't feel that way.  Many people are just afraid to be labeled--you know nazi, racist, intolerant.  Please try to remember that Obama is just as white as he is black.  Those labels shouldn't be thrown at people just because you don't agree with what they are saying.  The label of racist-whether it is true or not -can ruin a life.

We must stand together and be loud enough that we CANNOT be ignored.  Don't allow the media to marginalize us ANYMORE!!!!!
